Check out our Speaker's Bureau....it’s free and easy to use! You can
list yourself as a speaker, or
find speakers to jazz up your event, training or class. We launched the speaker’s bureau back in November with our new site, and so far 1,139 speakers have signed up, including an environmental school founder, an advocate for public access to TV and media, and a specialist in civil engagement/democracy in Eastern Europe.
An infinite number of organizations need volunteers, and there are many different ways to help: you can volunteer in person or online for 30 minutes a month or several hours a week. With a bit of research, we’re pretty sure that you’ll find an organization in your neighborhood that’s looking for the knowledge and skills you have to offer. Here’s what you can do on Idealist to get started: find a
volunteer opportunity - over 11,000 are listed on the site – or create your own
volunteer profile so organizations can contact you directly.

Getting involved in the community isn't just about starting your own initiative from scratch. It can also be about collaborating with an existing organization or project. Search our directories of programs, campaigns, and events to work with others toward a common goal. You could find
arts and culture events; or
health and medicine related campaigns; or
poverty and hunger programs.
Don't miss the opportunity to get involved with others for community action!

A past Start-up meeting

Since February, there have been more than 400 meetings with thousands of participants in over 70 countries.
